The right to read and access information, and the right for authors to write freely are all protected by the First Amendment of The United States Constitution. Banning books directly interferes with the first amendment, and is therefore unconstitutional.
My Senior Thesis focuses on the recent spike in book banning and how it is targeted towards marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ+ and Black communities, and scrutinizes the current trajectory of literary censorship.
